Phrases and English Idioms in Use
Suffice (it) to Say
Suffice to say; most people are probably multitasking while others are speaking or presenting.
I used “suffice to say” to indicate I would give enough information on a topic, though I could share more. This phrase is often used when someone wants to keep their message short or keep certain information discrete.
To Be on the Receiving End
So, they ask a series of tough questions, and you’re on the receiving end.
This English idiom in use refers to when something unpleasant happens to you.
Pass the Buck
If you don’t have the power or responsibility to make a decision, you get to pass the buck.
When someone passes the buck, they shift the responsibility to someone else.
Alright, that’s all of the phrases and English idioms in use for today!

English Learning Homework
Learning takes repetition and implementation. So, I’ll give you some homework! Listen to this episode again and repeat the words out loud to practice. It will not only expand your English vocabulary but help you to improve your American English pronunciation, listening skills, and intonation. You’ll be doing the Shadowing Technique! If you need a reminder about implementing the Shadowing Technique, check out episode 15, Introducing the Shadowing Technique for English Learning.
